DEREK Luxford has moved from Phillips Fox’s Sydney office, where he has worked for the last 21 years, to the smaller firm of Hicksons. The entire Phillips Fox transport & trade team from Sydney has moved with him. Hicksons has well-established practices in insurance, commercial dispute resolution, corporate/commercial and intellectual property.
As a result of the move, there will no longer be a transport and trade practice at the Sydney office of Phillips Fox.
Pysdens
KAY Pysden, formerly head of the transport practice at Davies Lavery, has left the firm together with the rest of the four-strong transport team to set up an independent transport practice trading as Pysdens. The move, the result of an amicable agreement, will allow the new firm to offer an approach more suited to marine and transit work, says Pysden.

MICHAEL Davies has joined the New York office of Chicago's Vedder, Price, Kaufman & Kammholz as a shareholder. He will continue his general commercial litigation and arbitration practice before US courts and international tribunals, with particular emphasis on international business and trade.
