VICTORIA Santos-Pires has joined leading London-based ship finance consultant Eurofin. Victoria has been a shipping financier for more than fifteen years, most recently as loan portfolio manager with Tufton Oceanic Limited where, in an eleven-year spell, she handled the overall implementation of loan transactions. Prior to that, she was with Swiss Cantobank in London, and Chancery Bank.
In addition to her extensive experience of the ship finance sector, Victoria brings to Eurofin outstanding client, transaction and bank syndicate management skills, together with financial and documentary administration capabilities, and refinancing, restructuring and vessel sales experience.
Waterson Hicks
MARK Aspinall has joined London-based shipping and commodities law firm Waterson Hicks as a partner. The firm has also recruited Tim Baker and Julian White who, along with Aspinall, are well-known for oil trading litigation and energy joint venture and project works.

DANIAL Evans has been appointed deputy club manager for Thomas Miller Defence, managers of the UK Freight Demurrage & Defence Club. For the past five years, he has been working as area director of the UK P&I Club’s Piraeus office and played a significant role in expanding Thomas Miller (Hellas) and in the growth of UK Club business among members based in Greece.
Having qualified as a solicitor in New Zealand and the UK, Evans joined Millers in 1992 and worked in claims handling for Australian, New Zealand, Russian and Middle Eastern members before majoring in Greek fleets.

CELIA Gardiner, former partner at Landwell, has joined Richard Butler’s insurance insolvency team. She brings with her Darryl Hong and Charlotte Moller. Gardiner is an experienced finance partner who specialises in restructuring and insolvency, particularly in the insurance sector. The Landwell team will be part of the insolvency unit, one of the four core units within Richard’s Butler’s finance group, which is led by Jonathan Yorke and now consists of three partners and nine other fee- earners.
