PETER Drakos, a partner at Healey & Baillie, has been elected president of the Connecticut Maritime Association (CMA). Drakos took over from former president Don Ross at CMA’s AGM at the end of April.
Waterson Hicks
ANDREW Ridings, a shipping and commodities specialist, has joined London law firm Waterson Hicks as a partner. Ridings was previously a partner at Middleton Potts.

SINGAPORE-based law firm Allen & Gledhill has moved to new offices. The firm can now be found at One Marina Boulevard 28-00, Singapore 018989. Allen & Gledhill now claims to be the largest law firm in Singapore, with almost 200 lawyers.

CHRIS Zavos is moving from Hill Taylor Dickinson to join Richards Butler as a partner in its insurance and reinsurance group. He has fifteen years’ experience in a broad range of hull, cargo, energy, yacht, construction and liability matters, and has also advised extensively on policy wordings, most recently the International Hull Clauses.

RUPERT Talbot-Garman has joined the London law offices of E G Arghyrakis & Co from Constant & Constant. A fluent Spanish speaker, he is a member of the executive committee of the British Spanish Law Association.

CLYDE & Co has appointed eight new partners, bringing the total number of partners across its network to 120. Among them is Rozenn Lupin, who joined the firm’s Paris office in 1997. A shipping and transport litigator, Lupin specialises in cargo recovery matters and charter party disputes, principally for clients in France.

TAN Kay Kian and Goh Mei Lin are among five new partners at Watson Farley & Williams. Kay Kian joined WFW’s Singapore office in 2000 before moving to Bangkok when the firm opened its office there in 2001. He specialises in international commercial arbitration and litigation for the maritime, power and commodity sectors. Mei Lin is based in the Singapore office and joined WFW in 1998. She specialises in finance transactions in the maritime, energy and transportation sectors.
Holman Fenwick & Willan
HOLMAN Fenwick & Willan has appointed two new partners, Jonathan Campbell and Elinor Dautlich. Campbell has extensive experience of non-contentious shipping matters, acting for both owners and banks on a wide range of transactions, including syndicated loans, finance leases and ship sale and purchase. Dautlich practises in corporate and commercial law and asset finance. She has wide experience of commercial shipping matters, shipbuilding and yachts.
The law firm also announced Alan Walls’ retirement from the partnership. He will stay on at the firm as a consultant, while Paul Dean takes over his role as head of the personal injury department.

PAUL Billowes returns to Ince & Co’s London office as an admiralty manager after five years in the firm’s Greek office. He is replaced in Piraeus by Stuart Francis, who is moving from the London office.
