Landmark for Lagerlöf & Leman
STOCKHOLM-based Lagerlöf & Leman is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. Its position as legal adviser to commerce and industry can be traced back to 1849, when Aron Philipsson opened an "advocate shop" in Gothenburg. Several well-known companies - for example, Skandinaviska Banken (now SEB) and the brewer, Pripps Ltd - were early clients. In 1872, the firm was taken over by Philip Leman, who went on to become one of the founders of the Swedish Bar Association.
In 1900, Erland Lagerlöf founded Advokatfirman Lagerlîf in Stockholm. From its inception, the company specialised in commercial and tax law. The two firms merged in 1990 to become Lagerlöf & Leman, which today is a member firm of Linklaters & Alliance.
